New $900m Training Ground the Size of Bishan to Give Soldiers Realistic Urban Combat Experience 15 Maret 2017 SAF new training ground (all images : Sing Mindef) SINGAPORE - A new training ground roughly the size of Bishan town will be built in western Singapore to let soldiers hone their urban fighting skills in real-life settings such as high-rise buildings, warehouses, and even an MRT station with multiple exits. This 88ha area, dubbed the Safti City, will allow soldiers to train in a dense urban environment that closely resembles Singapore"s landscape when it is completed in the west of the country in 10 years, said Defence Minister Ng Eng Hen on Friday (March 3) in Parliament. RAAF Welcomes First Two PC-21 Training Aircraft 06 Maret 2017 First two PC-21 training aircraft (photo : Sid Mitchell) Chief of Air Force Air Marshal Leo Davies has welcomed the arrival of the Royal Australian Air Force’s first two Pilatus PC-21 training aircraft that form part of the AIR 5428 pilot training system project. “We will be formally introducing the PC-21 into service in coming months, but it is grand to be here at Avalon to welcome these first two aircraft,” CAF said, speaking at the Avalon Airshow on Friday. “It really is the start point of us generating what will become a fifth-generation Air Force.” Minister for Defence Personnel Dan Tehan and Minister for Infrastructure and Transport Darren Chester were also on hand to welcome the new aircraft. Kongsberg Delivers Hugin AUV Training to Indonesian Navy 09 Februari 2017 Hugin AUV training to Indonesian Navy (photo : Kongsberg) Kongsberg Maritime’s Marine Robotics department has provided a three-week training of Hugin AUV systems set up on Indonesian Navy’s new survey ship program. The introduction training was conducted at a hotel in Central Jakarta, and the last week was at sea in Semangka Bay for practical training down to depths of 1000 metres.
