(NYSE:TGI) was selected by Korea Aerospace Industries, Ltd. (KAI), to provide Airframe Mounted Accessory Drives (AMAD) on the new KF-X fighter aircraft. The contract is in support of the latest generation of the air superiority fighter, which is scheduled to make its first flight in mid-2022 and begin low-rate initial production in 2024. Work will be performed in Sterling Heights, Michigan; Germany; Killeen, Texas; Korea; Kuwait; and Poland, with an estimated completion date of Feb. 28, 2018. (photo : defence.pk) NAVAN, Ireland --- At IDEX today, PT Pindad and Timoney announced that they have signed a contract to upgrade the Badak 6x6 with a customised Timoney modular driveline, transfer case and steering system.  The Badak is a 6x6 vehicle fitted with a CMI Defence two-man turret to provide direct fire support for deployed troops. It has a monocoque hull and is fitted with an independent suspension system.  The vehicle has a novel powerpack packaging solution that enables internal space to be maximised and has a special front mounted transfer box inputted to the first axle. BAE Secures $12m Contract Extension 18 Februari 2017 HMAS Leeuwin and HMAS Melville hydrograhic ships (photo : Aus DoD) A one-year contract extension valued at $12 million has been awarded to BAE Systems Australia to support the Royal Australian Navy’s Hydrographic fleet until 2020. The contract extension is related to BAE System Australia"s In Service Support contract, which is valued at around $436 million. Around 60 employees based in Cairns are directly employed by this project. Under the contract, BAE Systems supports the RAN"s two Hydrographic Ships, HMA Ships Leeuwin and Melville; four Survey Motor Launches, HMA Ships Paluma, Mermaid, Benalla, and Shepparton; and six Survey Motor Boats (SMBs), as well as two SMBs in the Hydrographic school and one SMB that supports surveys in the Antarctic. The contract requires industrial participation in Malaysia and as a result the production and assembly are taking place in that country. In its latest annual report, Denel noted that, “The contract execution has been extended by two years to nine years due to the economic situation in the end-user country. The required industrial participation activities have been implemented and the first systems have been successfully manufactured, assembled and tested in the end-user country. Thailand Ministry of Defense to terminate the contract with Kiev on supply tanks "Oplot" because of the failure by the Ukrainian side of the agreement, according to Ukrainian edition of " Vesti " referring to the statement by the head of the military department of the Thai Pravita Vongsumona.
