(photo : DefenseMediaNetwork) Based on information made public by the US Department of Defense through its website as of September 29, 2016, the US Navy"s Naval Surface Warfare Center awarded a US$25.4 million contract to BAE Systems Land & Armaments LP for the production of Mk. 38 Mod. 3 Machine Gun System (MGS), which will be installed on US Navy ships as well as Foreign Military Sales (FMS) to friendly countries. Among those scheduled to receive from FMS is the Philippine Navy, whose share on the contract is around 8%, or roughly US$2.03 million. Enam “SHERPA 2” Perkuat Indobatt 06 Maret 2017 Renault Sherpa 2 YonMek Indobatt (photos : Indobatt) (Penerangan Yonmek Konga 23-K) - Indobatt menerima kendaraan tempur SHERPA Light Scout untuk memperkuat alutsista prajurit Garuda.   Sebanyak enam kendaraan tempur SHERPA  kini dimiliki Indobatt untuk melaksanakan tugas operasi di wilayah Lebanon. 2 JMSDF TC-90s Aircraft to be Delivered Next Month 23 Februari 2017 JMSDF TC-90 aircraft (photo : Peter Steelhouwer) 2 JMSDF TC-90s aircraft to be delivered on March 27 MANILA, Feb. 23 (PNA) -- The Japan Maritime Self Defense Force (JMSDF) will deliver two of the five leased turbo-prop TC-90 aircraft to the Philippine Navy"s (PN) Sangley Point air facility on March 27. This was confirmed by Navy spokesperson Capt. Lued Lincuna in an interview Thursday. The aircraft will be delivered to the country by JMSDF pilots and will be formally transferred to the Navy on the same day. Lincuna said the remaining three TC-90s will be transferred to the Navy before the end of the year. He added that the TC-90s will be used to augment the existing Norman-Britten BN-2 Islander fleet, which the Navy uses in patrol, surveillance and humanitarian assistance and disaster relief (HADR) and rapid assessment missions. The ceremony started at 11 am. FA-50PH with tail number 005 touched down 11:05 am, while 006 touched down 11:07. The Philippines has 12-plane order from Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) worth PHP18.9 billion. FA-50PH aircraft are Mach 1.5 capable. The 1st and 2nd FA-50PHs arrived in November 2015, while the 4th and 3rd arrived a year after. The remaining six aircraft on order are expected to be delivered within this year. Lorenzana made the remark even as the Department of National Defense continues to have one of the biggest allocations with P134.5 billion under the P3.35-trillion national budget for 2017.
